Urkhovense Zeggen was inspired by the dramatic cloud formations that sometimes appear above the open fields near Eindhoven. Those moments when dark storm clouds slowly move in while the grass below is still lit intensely by the last remaining daylight.
The painting was built up in multiple layers of acrylic paint, using both brushwork and rougher textural applications to give the sky a restless, almost turbulent surface. The landscape itself was kept more open and simplified, allowing the contrast between land and sky to dominate the composition. The edges are fully painted, making the work ready to hang without a frame.

Urkhovense Zeggen is geïnspireerd op de indrukwekkende wolkenluchten die soms boven de open velden bij Eindhoven ontstaan. Die momenten waarop donkere regenwolken langzaam binnentrekken terwijl het gras nog fel wordt verlicht door het laatste aanwezige licht.
Het werk is opgebouwd in meerdere lagen acrylverf, met zowel schilderachtige penseelstreken als ruwere texturen in de luchtpartij, waardoor de lucht onrustig en bijna dreigend aanvoelt. Het landschap zelf is juist opener en eenvoudiger gehouden, zodat het contrast tussen lucht en land centraal staat. De randen zijn volledig meegeschilderd, waardoor het werk direct zonder lijst kan worden opgehangen.
