Pine I is part of the BARK series and is based on the bark of the Scots pine. The focus in this work is on texture and material.
The surface is built up in multiple layers of acrylic paint combined with materials developed by the artist. In some areas, paint is applied thickly, creating strong relief. In other parts, thinner layers and scraping techniques are used.
The palette consists of warm reds, pinks, and earthy tones, combined with lighter, almost chalk-like areas and darker accents for contrast and depth. Acrylic on canvas, painted on a 4 cm deep stretcher frame. Ready to hang.

Pine I maakt deel uit van de BARK-serie en is gebaseerd op de bast van de grove den. In dit werk ligt de nadruk op textuur en materiaalgebruik.
Het oppervlak is opgebouwd uit meerdere lagen acrylverf in combinatie met door de kunstenaar zelf ontwikkelde materialen. De verf is op sommige plekken dik en pasteus aangebracht, waardoor duidelijke reliëfstructuren ontstaan. Op andere plekken is juist gewerkt met dunnere lagen en schrapende bewegingen.
Het kleurgebruik bestaat uit warme rood-, roze- en aardetinten, gecombineerd met lichtere, bijna kalkachtige partijen en donkere accenten voor contrast en diepte. Acryl op doek, geschilderd op een 4 cm dik spieraam. Klaar om op te hangen.
